Don't Cut Down The Trees The Brother Woodcutter- Four Levels

About Poet:-Balkrishna Sam referred to as a great figure for his poems, dramas, novels, short stories within the field of literature. He has been known for setting benchmark in tragic dramas. He has shown patriotism and humanism through his writing.

Literal Comprehension:- In this poem "Don't cut down The Tree Brother Woodcutter" The poet personifies the tree with human attributes during this poem. Especially the poet argues in favour of nature conservation that trees are vital for our lives and that they ought to be protected through this poem. The poet asks the woodcutter to not hamper the trees because those are our dead mothers. The tree is like our mother that's around us and takes care folks from sun, water etc and provide lap. once we remember our childhood, we discover that almost all of the time we mess around the tree. It gives us fruits and flowers as if our mother cares about us providing milk. Thus, no child is hungry. Their leafy lips kiss us and once they feel tired, they sigh and weep. They never speak a word. they're able to tolerate and their pains and grieves are just for our sake, laughter & happiness. They never complain.

During winter, the poet says the family sits round the fire burnt from the wood, and sing and talk. within the winter, the trees are covered with a white frost that creates them bow at us. Nevertheless, we are ignorant. We don't understand all the scarifies and tolerance that the trees endure sustaining our lives. They silently and secretly pass the cold nights dreaming of our happy and cheerful days we spent during our childhoods under their guardianship. They also hear us singing the songs that they had taught us. They bless our laugher all the time. They always love us. But, they can't express their inner thoughts to us. It doesn't mean that they're lifeless, ignorant and thoughtless. They await us until winter ends. As soon as spring arrives, they again extend out their branches and appeal us to not stop their arms.

Interpretation :- I'm highly influenced by the author because the poet is trying to point out the importance of trees addressing the issues of deforestation and environmental degradation. The poet is indirectly criticizing the human insane act thus, making the life of our kids and grandchildren insecure. Trees protect us from sun and rain. They also give us fruits and flowers. they assist to take care of ecosystems and protect ozonosphere but they never beg anything from us because they can’t speak therefore the poet speaks on behalf by using of metaphors and allegory like brothers and mothers within the poem, the poet could be trying to attach emotionally together with his readers to form them realize the real importance of the trees.

Critical Thinking:- The poem is articulating and awe-inspiring themed on preservation of nature. the author allegories poem with tree to mother to provide it emotional and powerful touch. However there are some points which i found unconvincing are listed below :--How wise is it asking the woodcutter to not hamper the strain without showing the other alternative since it’s his only job?-those who sleep in hot place do they find frost on the top of the trees during winter?-How the trees can sing, weep and bless our laughter?-If the poet wants to attach to his readers emotionally, why not just say mother? Doesn’t say dead mother makes the thought head to another direction?-Can human life can run without lowering trees?

Assimilation:-Before reading this text I even have not good knowledge about the importance of forests, trees, deforestation, reforestation, eco-balance system, etc.I felt to consider our dense forest found within the Terai belt. There was “Charkose Jhadi” which was the good economic source of Nepal. Now we don't find it. I even have understood the worth of trees. i really like and respect the trees like my very own mother.
